Trees are losing their leaves and branches are looking bare in Washington. The city’s leaf vacuum is going around town picking up any leaves that are raked into the terrace areas. City crews will be operating the leaf vacuum through November 23rd. Residents are asked to place leaves in the space between the sidewalk and the street so they can easily be picked up. Do not put leaves in the street, because they can cause drainage issues and traffic hazards. Also, leaves can be taken to the waste water treatment plant Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Saturday mornings until November 19th between 7 and 10 a.m.
