Due to leaves in Washington still falling, the city’s leaf vacuum will operate one more week. JJ Bell, Washington’s maintenance and construction superintendent, tells KCII news the vacuum will run one week after Thanksgiving. The vacuum will pick up leaves that are raked into the terrace areas between the street and sidewalk. Do not put leaves in the streets, this can cause drainage issues and traffic hazards. Also, leaves can be taken to the waste water treatment plant Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., it can now be accessed only from Highway 1.
