Over 250 marijuana plants were seized at a residence in Mt. Union Thursday after an investigation started on a citizen complaint and tip. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant was executed at a 102 South Crew Street and 254 plants and grow equipment were seized, along with several pounds of processed marijuana, baggies, scales, weapons and money.

Thirty-six-year-old James Nicholson was arrested and charged with manufacturing marijuana over 110 pounds, possession with intent to deliver, and drug tax stamp violations. Nicholson is being held at the Henry County Jail on $25,000 bond.

Law enforcement obtained information during a narcotics investigation about the illegal growing, manufacturing, processing and sales of marijuana at this residence. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force, New London Police Department, Winfield Police Department and the Henry County Ambulance service.
