The WACO Ministerial Association is once again offering a free community meal on Thanksgiving Day. According to organizer Alicia Lemon, they have had a community meal for the last 10 years, and it consists of food donated by local churches. Lemon believes the meal is important because it fills a need in the community that often doesn’t get met. She said, “We have lots of families that don’t have another place to go, or they’re family is out of town. And it’s kind of a fun way for everybody to get together and still enjoy some company.”

The meal will be served at WACO High School in Wayland from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., and Lemon says there’s no need for reservations. Additionally, they are offering delivery to any home-bound individuals in the WACO school district. There will also be table games and access to the high school gymnasium for kids to enjoy. To request delivery or for more information, contact Lemon at 319-530-1900.
