Twenty Washington graduates returned home over the holiday weekend for an alumni basketball game in honor of their late coach, Phil Long. Over 100 people were at the Washington High School gym Saturday evening for the inaugural Living the Dream Alumni basketball game. Nineteen of the 20 players in the game graduated after 2007. Stephanie Rich-Dacey, a 2001 graduate, was the oldest alumna to play in the game.

Thanks in part to 13 points from 2010 graduate Cassey Kaye Sobaski, the Demon Black squad prevailed, 36-30. Other members of the black team included: Kelsey Anding (2010), Maquel Anding (2008), Sydney Greiner (2012), Lucy Lib Petz (2010), Dylann Schluetter (2015), Morgan Lee Greiner (2010), Jonte Thornton (2010), Jena Krebs Steele (2011), and Addie Pacha (2016).

Rich-Dacey and Johannah Vittetoe (2013) led the White squad with seven points each. The other players on the team included Mariah Reighard (2013), Dema Giardino (2014), Lauren Kimball (2013), Grace Redlinger (2014), Beth Dillon (2013), Olivia Hartzler (2013),. Joni Erwin (2013), and Addisen LeeAnne Shive (2014).

The game was a fundraiser for the Phil Long Living the Dream Scholarship Fund. Long, who coached Washington girls basketball for over 25 years, died on June 21, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.
