A road that was closed for repairs south of Washington is now open. The Washington County Engineer’s Office has announced that 290th Street, east of Larch Avenue, was opened this week following construction. The road had been closed for a reinforced concrete box culvert replacement project. Also, about 250 feet of the road was re-graded on each side of the culvert to correct slopes and improve drainage. Local construction dollars were used to pay for the $156,000 project that was done by Iowa Bridge and Culvert, L.C. of Washington.
