On Thursday, the Henry County Extension Office in Mt. Pleasant will be the site of a seminar about agricultural outlook and management. The seminar is part of a series that has been hosted across the state by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach during November and December. The program is designed to provide participants with an evaluation of current market conditions, expected trends in crop and livestock income potential, and management implications.

According to extension economists, the agricultural sector is in the midst of a downturn, and the seminar will discuss strategies on how to deal with it. It will also take a look into the outlook for agriculture in 2017, and provide an opportunity to discuss the current situation with university experts on the Iowa economy. The seminar will begin at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, with registration open 30 minutes before. The cost to attend the seminar is a $40 per person or $60 per couple, and breakfast will be provided. To register ahead of time, call the extension office at 319-385-8126.
