Washington alum Thomas Bump has been recognized for his high marks in the classroom while playing college football in northwest Missouri. Bump was one of 42 athletes on the Missouri Western State University Griffons football team to be named to the Mid America Athletic Associations (MIAA) Academic Honor Roll for fall sports.

To achieve honor roll status, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 and have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. Bump’s grade point average after the season was at 3.12.

Bump, a redshirt freshman, made the two-deep roster for the Griffons football team this fall as a reserve linebacker. He posted six total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks in five games played. Missouri Western State University is based in Saint Joseph, Mo.
