The Washington Demon girls’ basketball team (1-3) faced their first ranked test of the year Monday. As heard live on AM/FM KCII and KCIIRadio.com, the Demons welcomed the No. 5 Center Point-Urbana (CPU) Stormin’ Pointers (4-0) to town for a non-conference battle. CPU outscored Washington by 21 points in the first quarter on their way to a 65-28 victory.

Washington scored 10 of their 28 points in the final quarter. Sarah Nacos scored seven of her team-best 10 points in the final quarter. The Demons committed 30 turnovers.

Allison Wooldridge scored 12 of her game-high 19 points in the opening quarter. Olivia Brecht recorded 12 points, while LaMia Sisk added 11.

The loss drops Washington to 1-3 overall. The Demons open Southeast Conference play Friday at Fairfield.
