The No. 14 ranked Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls basketball team suffered a setback Friday night at Goose Lake, falling to the Northeast Lady Rebels 49-39.

Northeast jumped out early, holding a 10-2 lead after the first quarter and finishing the run at 14-2 midway through the second quarter. The Rebels lead stood at 25-16 at the half. In the second half Mid-Prairie made a hand full of pushes to get the lead under a half dozen but could not complete the comeback, dropping the game by 10. Shae Becker and Ali Butters led the Hawks in the loss with 10 apiece. Mid-Prairie is now 1-2 on the season and will next be in action Tuesday when they host Iowa City Regina.
