The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls basketball team sprinted past West Liberty Friday night at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman by a 63-23 final score.

The Hawks wasted no time taking control, opening the contest on an 11-0 run. The Mid-Prairie defense held West Liberty off the scoreboard for the first five and a half minutes of the game. The Hawks led 17-4 after the first quarter and 35-10 at the half. The Golden Hawks maintained focus in the second half, going on a 14-4 run that spanned the entire third quarter and enacting the continuous clock two minutes into the second half.

Mid-Prairie was led in the game by Ali Butters 20 points. Shae Becker added 12. With the win Mid-Prairie is now 3-3 on the year.
