Riding a wave of momentum the Mid-Prairie girls basketball team entered Christmas break on a four game winning streak, moving their record to 5-3 on the season.

In their last game the Hawks won at West Branch 60-57. Mid-Prairie travels today to Cedar Rapids Kennedy for a scrimmage.

The Golden Hawks are seventh in the River Valley Conference in scoring at 49 points per game. They are fourth in the conference in field goal percentage at 40% on the year. The Hawks are seventh in the conference in scoring defense allowing 47 points per game.

Individually, Mid-Prairie is led by Ali Butters who is averaging 12 points per game, ninth in the River Valley Conference. Addie Rath has the team lead and is third in the RVC with 36 assists. Ireland Hostetler is third in the conference and best on the team with 20 blocked shots. Hostetler also leads the team and is ninth in the conference with 62 rebounds.

Cedar Rapids Kennedy enters today with an overall record of 3-6. In their last game the Cougars were beaten by Cedar Rapids Xavier 52-37. Hailey Dolphin leads the Cougars in scoring and is third in the Mississippi Valley Conference at 17 points per game. Olivia Hellweg leads Kennedy and is third in the MVC with 28 assists. Auddie Alepra is the team leader in rebounds with 55 on the year, putting her fifth in the conference.
