The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk wrestling team traveled to Monticello for their final River Valley Conference triangular before Christmas break to take on the Panthers and the Bellevue Comets.

Mid-Prairie beat the Comets by a 43-28 score. The Hawks won contested matches from Tim Grepl at 126lbs by 15-10 decision, Duncan McCain at 132lbs by fall, David Murray at 138lbs by fall, Brent Foster at 152lbs by 15-6 major decision, Ethan Danner at 170lbs by fall, and Jason Tew at 220lbs by fall.

Mid-Prairie lost to the Monticello Panthers 40-39 on the seventh tie breaking criteria, most first points scored in matches, 11-7. The Golden Hawks got wins in contested matches from Duncan McCain by fall at 138lbs, David Murray by fall at 145lbs, Visouth Peterschmidt by fall at 220lbs and Jason Tew at heavyweight by 3-2 decision. The Golden Hawks overall dual record now stands at 5-5.

Mid-Prairie will next be in action January 5th against Northeast Goose Lake, Midland and Tipton.
