The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk wrestling team defended their home gym Tuesday night, besting North Cedar and West Branch in a River Valley Conference triangular.

Mid-Prairie faced off first with the Knights and won the dual 42-27. Winning contested matches in the dual were Duncan McCain by fall at 132 and Brent Foster by fall at 160.

The Golden Hawks beat West Branch in the nightcap 51-21. Taking contested matches in the dual were Levi Stultz by fall at 106, Tim Grepl by fall at 126, Duncan McCain by fall at 132, David Murray by fall at 145, Brent Foster at 152 by an 8-4 decision, Mason Hartley by fall at 160, and Jason Tew by fall at 220. Visouth Peterschmidt received a forfeit during the dual, giving him his 100th career victory.

With the sweep, Mid-Prairie is now 3-3 overall and will next be in action this weekend at the Mediapolis tournament.
