Iowa Mennonite School and Columbus square off in a boys and girls basketball doubleheader tonight at Hillcrest Union in Kalona.

The IMS girls come into the game with an overall record of 0-3. In their last game they fell at Highland Tuesday 64-36. On the season IMS is led by Suzanna Yoder’s 19 points per game, fourth most in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. Yoder also leads the team with eight assists and eight steals. Mia Graber holds the team lead with 14 rebounds.

Columbus comes into tonight with an overall record of 2-2. In their last game the Wildcats topped Winfield-Mt. Union 60-26. Shania Boyd led the way with 20 points. Boyd leads the Wildcats in scoring and is second in the conference at 20 points per game. Bailey Stroud leads the team and is second in the conference with 23 assists. Stroud has the team lead and is fourth in the conference with 36 boards.

These two teams met twice a year ago with Columbus taking both contests, winning 60-20 in Columbus Junction and 42-36 in Kalona.

The Iowa Mennonite boys come into tonight’s contest with a 1-2 overall record. In their last game IMS fell to Highland on the road Tuesday 49-45, Cole Yoder had a team high 16 points in the game. Yoder leads IMS in scoring on the year at 10 points per game, he is also the team lead with 20 rebounds on the year, fifth best in the league. Cole Ours and Caleb Gingerich each hold the team lead with 10 assists.

Columbus enters tonight with an overall record of 0-4. In their last game they lost to Winfield-Mt. Union 56-48. Carter Colby led the way with 21 points. Colby is the team scoring leader at 19 points per game, second best in the conference. Ruben Paz leads the Wildcats with 12 assists, fourth most in the conference. Tommy Pretz has the team lead and is third in the conference with 27 rebounds.

IMS won both meetings between these schools a year ago, taking the contest in Kalona 54-35 and winning in Columbus Junction 61-25.
