Elementary students in third, fourth and fifth grades will have the chance to take part in a new STEM Club starting in January. Washington County Extension and 4-H is partnering with Lincoln Elementary School in Washington with a sponsorship from Bazooka Farmstar for the science, technology, engineering and math club. Students will be able to interact with STEM in a more hands-on setting.

The club sessions will be facilitated by Janet Conrad, Melanie Roth and Amy Green with an Engineering is Elementary curriculum. January is called “Go Green” with students engineering recycled racers. February is called “Put a Lid on It” and will focus on biomedical engineering where students learn about the brain and design helmets for a crash dummy mannequin.

Registration is open until December 16th at Lincoln or the Washington County Extension Office and is $10 for students, or $5 for current 4-H members.
