The Washington Demons boys basketball team (1-3) dropped their home opener Tuesday night, 90-55, to the No. 7 Oskaloosa Indians (5-1). As heard live on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com. the Indians ran out to a 28-8 advantage after the first quarter and took a 45-29 lead into halftime. Oskaloosa outscored Washington 45-26 in the second half.

Jaivonn Willis topped Washington in the scoring column with 17 points. Dalton Myers posted nine points while Cale Hobscheidt and Bryce Sinn added seven points apiece. The Demons made eight of ten from the free throw line.

Oskaloosa had six players score in double-digits. Cole Henry led the way with 19 points. The Indians converted 20 of their 23 free throw attempts.

The loss drops Washington’s record to 1-3 overall. The Demons return to the court Friday in Keokuk, squaring off against the Chiefs in a Southeast Conference doubleheader.
