Participants will make holiday decorations from recycled materials, last year old books were transformed into Christmas trees. Christmas storytime will be held this Saturday at 10 a.m. for all ages. A holiday concert will be presented December 8th by the Washington Singers at 12:15 p.m.

Also, the mitten tree is up in the entrance of the library and will be accepting donations through December 12th. Handmade and store-bought mittens, gloves, hats and scarves placed on the tree will be donated to HACAP and local elementary schools to be given to children.

Stanton adds the library staff can also help if you want to get a book as a gift for someone during the holidays. She explains the children’s librarian can recommend a book for younger kids while the teen librarian can point you in the direction of series for teenagers.
