Still looking for a few stocking-stuffers or gifts to put under the tree this weekend? There’s still time to shop locally. Sarah Grunewaldt, director of Main Street Washington, says there are a lot of options in downtown Washington from shoes and clothing to home decor and toys. She adds shopping locally positively impacts the community, because a large portion of each dollar spent helps the community by funding local agencies like fire departments and schools, to helping pay someone’s wage in town. Grunewaldt says many businesses have extended hours today to help accommodate those last minute shoppers and some will even wrap your gifts for you.
