A Washington man was recently named an Environmental Leader by the Iowa Soybean Association. Rob Stout was presented the award for outstanding service to the soybean industry and Iowa agriculture at the ISA’s annual awards banquet in Ankeny. The award is presented by Monsanto and was given to Stout for “his commitment to conservation and championing water quality practices.” Stout is involved in a 10-year research project on cover crops, participates in numerous On-Farm Network trials and late spring nitrogen tests and helped start the West Fork Crooked Creek Watershed Group. Also, in 2015 he installed a bioreactor.
