Concrete has been poured, precast decking has been installed and framing is underway at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington. Work on the $6.2 million project began in August. Erin Drahota, administrator, shares residents have enjoyed watching the construction, especially those on the west end of Kerr Hall. The addition will have 17 private rooms, but in total they’ll only be adding seven beds because they’ll transition some current semi-private rooms to private. Also there will be a new wellness and fitness area, complete with a warm water therapy pool. The fitness center will also be open to anyone in the community who is 55 or older for a monthly membership fee. The project is expected to be done next fall on schedule.
