The Washington Demon basketball teams split a pair of games Monday night in Keokuk County. As heard live on AM/FM KCII and KCIIRadio.com, the Demons traveled to Sigourney for a non-conference doubleheader versus the Savages.

The Washington boys’ basketball team (1-2) scored the first 11 points of their game, lifting the Demons to a 65-26 victory. Five Washington players scored six or more points each. Dalton Myers scored all of his team-high 14 points in the first half. Jack Redlinger added 13 points off the bench. Dustin Haines led Sigourney with six points.

Another low- scoring first half buried the Demon girls’ basketball team. Washington tallied 13 points in the first 16 minutes. Sigourney ran away with a 56-40 victory. Sarah Nacos scored 18 of her team-best 22 points in the second half. Autumn Barthelman topped Sigourney with 19 points.
