Flood warnings are in effect for the English River at Kalona and the Iowa River near Lone Tree until Thursday morning. . According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, river forecasts include past precipitation and forecast rainfall. Remember, if you come upon a flooded road, turn around and find an alternate route – turn around, don’t drown. At Kalona, flood stage is 14 feet and as of 4 a.m. it was 14.7 feet and steady. Near Lone Tree the Iowa River rose over four feet from Tuesday to Wednesday to 14.9 feet, while flood stage there is 15 feet. Water at both locations is expected to fall below flood stage Thursday.
