The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams travel to West Liberty to battle the Comets in a River Valley Conference doubleheader tonight.

The Golden Hawk girls enter the game ranked No. 12 in class 3A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. They have an overall record of 13-5. In their last game they beat Durant Saturday 52-44 behind 15 points from Ali Butters. On the season Butters and Addie Rath are tied for the team lead with 13 points. Rath leads the Golden Hawks, the River Valley Conference and is fifth in class 3A with 83 assists on the year. Ireland Hostetler is best on the team and fifth in the conference with 152 total boards.

West Liberty comes into tonight with an overall record of 0-19. In their last game they were beaten by Cascade 58-13. Haddie Anderson led the Comets with five points. On the year Anderson leads the team scoring 13 points per game. She also has the team lead with 29 assists and has pulled in the most rebounds with 134, ninth best in the RVC.

These two teams met on December 16th with Mid-Prairie winning 63-23 in Wellman.

The Mid-Prairie boys come into today with an overall record of 5-14. In their last game they fell at Durant Saturday 55-53. Dominick Pickard had nine points to lead the Hawks. On the season, Mid-Prairie is led in scoring by Caleb Statler at nine points per game. He also leads Mid-Prairie on the glass with 100 rebounds, eighth in the RVC. Brad Tornow has 55 assists, second best in the conference.

West Liberty comes into tonight with an overall record of 5-12. In their last game they fell to Cascade 67-42. On the year the Comets are led by Noah Feldman scoring 16 points per game, fourth best in the River Valley Conference. He also has the team lead and is second in the conference with 55 assists. Feldman’s 150 rebounds lead the conference and rank him sixth in class 3A.

These two teams met on December 16th with Mid-Prairie taking a 60-49 win.
