The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams host the Wilton Beavers tonight in a River Valley Conference doubleheader.

The Mid-Prairie girls come into tonight’s action ranked No. 14 in class 3A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. The Golden Hawks are 11-4 on the year after a 44-34 win at Monticello on Friday. Addie Rath led the Golden Hawks with 22 points. Mid-Prairie is led on the year by Rath at 13 points per game. She also has the team lead and is second in the River Valley Conference with 69 assists. Ireland Hostetler leads the Golden Hawks on the glass and is fourth in the RVC with 130 rebounds.

Wilton comes into the game with an overall record of 10-6, they have won five in a row. Friday they beat Northeast Goose Lake 45-42. Aubrey Putman led the Beavers with 17 points. Emily Lange leads Wilton on the year scoring 13 points per game. Lange also leads the Beavers with 101 rebounds. Kortney Drake is best on the team and seventh in the conference with 50 assists.

These two teams met on December 9th with Mid-Prairie winning 49-46 in overtime.

The Mid-Prairie boys are also looking for a season sweep of the Beavers. The Golden Hawks enter tonight’s action with an overall record of 4-12. In their last game they lost to Monticello Friday 66-31. On the year the Golden Hawks are led by Caleb Statler scoring 10 points per game, ninth best in the River Valley Conference. Brad Tornow has the team lead and is seventh in the RVC with 40 assists. Tom Butters leads the Hawks on the glass and is seventh in the conference with 74 rebounds.

Wilton enters tonight with an overall record of 1-15 on the year. In their last contest they were beaten by Northeast Goose Lake 72-25 Friday. Evan Reifert led the way with eight points. On the year the Beavers are led by Matt Paustian, scoring eight points per game. He is also best on the team and fourth in the conference with 99 rebounds. Jake Fratzke leads the team with 29 assists.

These two teams met on December 9th in Wilton with Mid-Prairie taking a 56-48 win.
