Friday night the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams will welcome the Camanche Indians to Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman for a River Valley Conference doubleheader.

The Golden Hawk girls come into the night ranked No. 14 in class 3A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. The Hawks have won two in a row and 11 of their last 12 games. On Tuesday the beat the Wilton Beavers 48-39 behind 13 points from Addie Rath. On the season Rath leads the Golden Hawks scoring 13 points per game, she has the team lead with 74 assists, second best in the River Valley Conference. Ireland Hostetler leads the Golden Hawks and is fifth in the conference with 136 rebounds.

Camanche enters Friday with a 13-6 overall record. The Lady Indians fell to top 15 Cascade on Tuesday 41-40. Camanche is led on the year by Courtney Schnoor scoring 18 points per game, third best in the RVC. Schnoor also leads the team and is second in the conference with 151 boards. Sami Puckett has the team lead and is second in the conference with 74 assists.

These two teams met last year with Camanche taking a 58-54 win in overtime.

The Mid-Prairie boys enter Friday with a 5-12 overall record after blasting the Wilton Beavers 63-32. The Golden Hawks were led by 16 points from Derek Rich. On the season the Hawks are led by Caleb Statler, scoring nine points per game. Brad Tornow is best on the team with 45 assists, fifth in the RVC. Tom Butters has pulled in a team best 91 rebounds, sixth in the conference.

Camanche enters Friday with an overall record of 14-2. In their last game they lost to Cascade 60-54. Dylan Hundley led the Indians with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Dakota Soenksen leads the Indians on the year and is third in the conference scoring 18 points per game. Dev Patel has 79 assists, best on the team and second best in the conference. Hundley leads the team, RVC and is the state’s best rebounder in class 2A with 177 boards.

These two teams met a year ago with Camanche taking an 86-58 win.
