The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams swept Wilton in a River Valley Conference doubleheader Tuesday at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.

The Mid-Prairie girls got the victory 48-39. The Hawks held a slim 9-7 lead after one quarter and used a 7-0  run in the second frame to stretch the lead to nine. Wilton answered with an 8-1 run and the game was tied at 22 at the half. The third quarter was a defensive battle as the Golden Hawks held the Beavers to just four points in the period, taking a 30-26 lead into the final frame. In the fourth, Wilton closed the game down to a one point affair, but the Golden Hawks finished strong, with a 15-6 run to secure the win. Mid-Prairie was led on the night by Addie Rath with 13 points, Ireland Hostetler had 12 and Ali Butters finished with 11. The Golden Hawks are now 12-4 on the year.

The Mid-Prairie boys handled Wilton in a 63-32 win. The Golden Hawks started the game on an 18-5 run. Wilton got back within 18-13 with two and a half minutes to play first half but the Golden Hawks closed the second period on a 12-0 run including back to back to back three point goals from Derek Rich, Carter Reinier and Ryan Slaubaugh to put Mid-Prairie up 30-12 at the half. The run would total 17-0 and Mid-Prairie would lead by 21 at its largest. Wilton responded with nine straight to cut the Golden Hawk lead to 12 but Mid-Prairie responded down the stretch to run away with the win. Derek Rich led Mid-Prairie with 16 points including four three point goals. Carter Reinier and Ryan Slaubaugh each had 11 for the Golden Hawks. With the win Mid-Prairie is now 5-12 on the year.
