The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk basketball teams are back on the floor tonight when they welcome Tipton to Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman for double header action.

The Mid-Prairie girls enter tonight winners of six in a row. In their last game they beat North Cedar 50-29 on Friday night, led by 17 points and 12 rebounds from Ireland Hostetler. On the season the Mid-Prairie girls are led by Ali Butters scoring 13 points per game, 10th best in the River Valley Conference. Addie Rath leads the team and is second in the conference with 49 assists. Ireland Hostetler has the team lead and is fifth in the RVC with 92 rebounds.

Tipton enters tonight with an overall record of 2-8. In their last game they fell to Cascade 59-30. Jamie Kofron led the Tigers in the game with eight points. On the season Emily Hermsen leads the Tigers, scoring 10 points per game. Hermsen also has the team lead with 25 assists. Jamie Kofron is best on the team with 82 rebounds.

These two teams met in Tipton to open the conference season with Mid-Prairie taking a 62-51 win. Ireland Hostetler had 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Golden Hawks. Addie Rath had 20 points and Ali Butters finished with 11.

In the boys contest, Mid-Prairie enters with an overall record of 3-7. In their last game they fell to North Cedar 63-53. Caleb Statler had a big night with 19 points, Brad Tornow added 11. On the season the Hawks are led by Caleb Statler at 11 points per game, 10th best in the conference. Statler also leads the RVC with 23 blocked shots, and is best on the team and seventh in the conference with 56 rebounds. Brad Tornow had the team lead and is 10th in the conference with 23 assists.

Tipton enters tonight’s game with an overall record of 6-4. In their last game the Tigers were beaten 49-36 by Cascade. Logan Hoffman led the way with 15 points. On the year the Tigers are led by Hoffman who is tied for the lead in the River Valley Conference, scoring 23 points per game. Hoffman is also the team’s leading rebounder and sixth best in the conference with 62 on the year. Zach Ford leads the Tigers with 16 assists.

These two teams met in the season opener in Tipton with the Tigers winning an overtime classic 71-69. Logan Hoffman scored 31 for the Tigers. Derek Rich had 18 for Mid-Prairie.
