Two KCII area basketball programs will square off tonight. The Highland Huskies welcome the Winfield-Mount Union Wolves to rural Riverside for a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North doubleheader. The Huskies won a pair of games against the Wolves in Winfield on December 2.

The Highland girls’ basketball team (10-1) enters tonight in second place in the league standings, winning seven of eight conference games. Mediapolis is leading the SEISC North, winning all nine of their league contests. Forward Aly Stokes is averaging a double-double, 10.3 points and 10.4 rebounds a game. On the other side, Winfield-Mount Union has lost nine of their last 10 conference games. The Wolves continue their season tonight looking to end a five-game skid. Forward Lexee Hartsock is the Wolves’ leading scorer at 9.7 points per game and her 78 rebounds rank second on the team. Highland won the first matchup over Winfield-Mount Union, 53-39.

Sitting alone atop the SEISC North boys’ standings is the Highland Huskies (9-1), who’ve won all eight of their league games. Three Highland players are averaging more than 10 points a game. Forward Zach Lasek tops the squad with 15 points per game. Guard Trent Lasek pours in 12.5 points per contest, while guard Bill Burton adds 10.1. Challenging Highland tonight is an up-and-down Winfield-Mount Union squad (5-7). W-MU will look to end a three-game skid on the heels of a four-game winning streak. Bryce Robison posts a double-double for the Wolves, averaging 15.1 points and 11 rebounds a contest. Highland defeated Winfield-Mount Union in their initial meeting, 62-42.
