Sleet, freezing rain and ice are in the forecast for the area Sunday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch from early Sunday morning through late Sunday night with ice accumulations from one-tenth to a quarter of an inch possible. Ice accumulations could seriously impact travel, coat sidewalks, and possibly damage trees and power lines. JJ Bell, maintenance and construction superintendent for the city of Washington, tells KCII News that road crews are keeping an eye on the storm and pre-salting and treating the roads as necessary.
