A pair of KCII area schools squared off Friday in Columbus Junction when the Wildcats hosted the Iowa Mennonite School in a Southeast Iowa Superconference doubleheader.

In the girls contest, Columbus finished a season sweep of IMS with a 64-38 win. Columbus took control early, going on a 25-6 run that lasted the entire first quarter. The Wildcats led 42-16 at the half. Shania Boyd led Columbus with a double double 24 points and 10 steals. Bailey Stroud had 14 points. With the win Columbus is now 8-7 on the year, IMS falls to 0-14.

In the nightcap, the Iowa Mennonite boys completed a season sweep of the Wildcats, winning 49-30. Things were tight early in a low scoring first half, IMS led 9-6 after one quarter and got some breathing room with an 18-4 burst that lasted the entire second quarter, taking a 27-10 lead into the locker room. In the second half, Iowa Mennonite maintained their lead and finished out the win. Reggie Borntrager led IMS with 11 points. Tommy Pretz had 12 to lead Columbus. With the win IMS improved to 9-5 on the year, Columbus is now 0-15.
