Temperatures in Washington County aren’t expected to rise above freezing until Monday, and with that remember to take extra care of your pets. If you have animals that are outside, make sure they have access to water, Amber Talbot director of PAWS and More recommends using heated dishes. Also, in regards to dog houses, she says plastic dog houses are inadequate when it comes to keeping pets warm. Do not use blankets or towels as bedding, because once they become wet they can freeze. Straw for bedding is recommended. Also, Talbot advises putting styrofoam around the outside of the dog house can help keep pets warm during the winter months. Listen to KCII for weather updates
