The Keota Eagle boys basketball team grabbed a big South Iowa Cedar League victory on Tuesday night topping the top five ranked Montezuma Braves at home 53-51.

The Eagles got out to a fast start, going on a 16-8 run that lasted the entire first frame. The Braves responded, outscoring the Eagles 19-11, leaving the game tied at 27 going into the halftime break. Montezuma continued to hold momentum building a five point lead going to the final frame. The Eagles rallied in the final eight minutes outscoring the Braves 20-13 to take the come from behind win.

Avery Conrad led Keota with a double double 15 points and 12 rebounds. Cole Stout added 12 points in the win. With the victory Keota is now 10-2 on the year and will next be in action tonight when they host Lynnville-Sully.
