It’s a busy week ahead for a Kalona man as he travels to Washington, D.C., for the 45th president’s inauguration. Merle Miller explains he’s been a supporter of Donald Trump throughout the campaign and volunteered his time during the primaries and general election. Miller has even met with Trump personally.

Miller will be in D.C. from Tuesday night through Sunday, beginning with a dinner at Trump International Hotels. Thursday he’ll attend a meet and greet with the Iowa delegates followed by a private welcome reception that evening. Friday will be full with the inauguration, parade and the Freedom Ball to top it off. Saturday Miller plans to see some of the sights while in the nation’s capital.

He adds, “I think, no matter what side of the aisle you’re on, you can be a part of witnessing the peaceful transition of power, I think that’ll be probably pretty neat to see.” Donald Trump will become the 45th President of the United States Friday.
