At the midway point of his senior year, Mid-Prairie wrestling standout Duncan McCain is on the brink of history this week.

McCain has 147 career varsity wins for the Golden Hawks, one shy of the school record held by Phirom Peterschmidt who wrestled for the program from 2010-2014.

McCain was the sixth wrestler in program history to join the 100 win club, doing so Thursday, January 7th of 2016 with a tech fall victory over Dayne Ehlts of West Branch. McCain is also a two time state tournament qualifier and River Valley Conference Champion in 2016.

Mid-Prairie wrestles in the quadrangular at Tipton against the Tigers, Midland, Wyoming and Northeast Goose Lake.  McCain enters Thursday’s event ranked No. 9 in class 2A at 132lbs. He has an overall record this season of 18-0.
