At the upcoming Mid-Prairie School Board meeting, they will be making a decision regarding the vision and plan proposed by the elementary study group. Superintendent Mark Schneider believes if the board has no further questions or concerns, he expects them to adopt the vision for elementary learning, or some form of it. He adds, “Obviously, the board is free to do whatever they want to do. They could change the wording of the vision as it was applied by the study group, or they can approve it as is. It’s up to the individual board members what they want to do.”

In addition to the vision, Schneider says they’ll also discuss the seven focus areas for achieving the vision, as set by the elementary study group. Among the focus areas are normalizing class sizes and focusing on individual learning. Schneider thinks the board will agree that the focus areas should be pursued, though they may have other ideas on how best to achieve them.
