A new county attorney will be decided upon this month. The Washington County Board of Supervisors accepted applications in December and held interviews with seven candidates. Supervisor Jack Seward Jr. shared he’s received some advice on how to select a new county attorney which advised him to consider honesty and integrity, along with community ties. He said he’s looking not for the person who can discern right from wrong, but the one who can tell the difference between “right and almost right.” The official decision and announcement for the new Washington County attorney will be made January 17th. Currently assistant county attorney Jennifer Lerner is the acting county attorney.
