Students and staff at the Washington High School were evacuated from the school Tuesday afternoon due to a fire. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 12:48 p.m. a fire was reported in the boiler room. The fire was extinguished by the Washington Fire Department. Also, Washington County Ambulance, Washington Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s personnel, and Alliant Energy responded to the scene. According to a release from the school, all students were safe and classes resumed at 2 p.m.
