Table from 1/24/17 City Council packet

Funding, grants and budgets were discussed at Tuesday’s Washington City Council meeting. The council approved a revised resolution for a Washington County Riverboat Foundation municipal grant application. In a memo from City Administrator Brent Hinson, the city submitted four projects to the WCRF for grant funding and received favorable response on two items. The four projects were a donation to the auditorium, the Washington incentive fund partner program, the South 15th Avenue project, and improvements to the fire station, police department and city hall. The revised application requests $0 for 15th Avenue or the city hall project, but shifts those funds to an increased auditorium pledge, $200,000 for the Wellness Park, $60,000 for the Kewash Trail, and $16,500 for improvements to the Central Park Fountain. The two request resolutions each totaled $425,000, but the funds shifted to different projects.

Following that item, the council held a fiscal year 2018 budget workshop.
