Washington County is growing in population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Washington County’s population grew by 2.5% from 2010 to 2015, an increase of about 500 people. In total 22,247 people now live in Washington County. Other area counties that saw increases during the same time period include Johnson County with an increase of 9.9% and Jefferson County with a 4.3% increase. Henry and Iowa Counties fell by less than a percent, while Keokuk County dropped by 3.2% and Louisa County decreased by 1.6%. The fastest growing county with a population increase of 20.1% was Dallas County.
