Current Lone Tree Superintendent Michael Reeves is retiring at the end of this school year after 17 years in the position, and the district recently hired his successor. Ken Crawford is originally from Washington, but for the last 13 years he’s served as the principal for Wilton High School. Lone Tree will be his first opportunity to serve as superintendent, and he’s excited to get started with the next level of administration. Crawford had been looking at superintendent positions for a while, and he felt Lone Tree was a good fit, a sentiment the district echoed when they made the decision to hire him in December.

When asked what he’s most looking forward to with becoming the Lone Tree superintendent, Crawford said, “I’m looking forward to meeting the people, being in the district, and really just seeing another educational system and how they do things. And seeing what I feel are the great things about it, and really magnify those great things. And if there’s something there that I think I can bring to the table to help them out, I would really like to be able to help clean up anything that it’s like, ‘Hey, we can go this way, or go that way.’ I think that’s going to be exciting as well.” Crawford will take over for Reeves on July 1st, and the two will meet many times over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.
