Strong winds swept across Eastern Iowa Tuesday. The strong winds caused the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory from 9:45 a.m. to 7 p.m., due to it being difficult for travel, especially high profile vehicles, and the chance for loose objects to be blown around. In Washington wind speeds at 2 p.m. were at 29 miles per hour with gusts at nearly 40 miles per hour. In the Quad Cities wind speeds were estimated with gusts of 50 miles per hour. Tuesday’s low temperature was 23 degrees with a high of 48 degrees. Temperatures are expected to drop off the rest of the week with a chance for ice Sunday. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
