Nearly six-tenths of an inch of rain and a wintry mix fell in Washington Monday. Streets and sidewalks resembled ice skating rinks early Monday, as they were covered in a layer of ice.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the English River at Kalona until further notice. Minor flooding is forecast. As of 6 a.m. Tuesday the English River was just over 14 feet, while flood stage at Kalona is 14 feet. The river rose over eight feet from Monday morning to Tuesday. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
