Two KCII area boys’ basketball teams will meet on the hardwood in Washington tonight. The Class 1A Keota Eagles (16-3) will travel to Washington High School for a non-conference matchup versus the Class 3A Demons (4-9). Both teams enter the game off of a conference victory.

The Washington Demons return to the court after a six-day layoff following a 58-47 triumph over the Keokuk Chiefs (1-15). Jaivonn Willis scored a team-best 12 points, while Luke Turner added 10 points and eight rebounds. Mason Rich swiped six of Washington’s 20 steals versus Keokuk. Willis and Jack Redlinger recorded three steals each.

The Keota Eagles fly into Washington tonight on a five-game winning streak and they’ve been racking up the points recently. The Eagles are averaging 78.8 points per game over the last five contests including back-to-back 91 point performances versus Sigourney (5-15) and English Valleys (1-18). Four Eagles players are averaging more than 11 points per game this winter including Cole Stout (14.3), Hunter Wilson (12.8), Jacob Wickenkamp (12.2), and Avery Conrad (11.9).
