On Friday, three area schools are giving students the day off as teachers and administrators convene at Washington High School to learn from Buddy Berry, Superintendent for the Eminence, Kentucky School District. The Mid-Prairie, Washington, and WACO districts will be taking part in the presentation. Mid-Prairie Superintendent Mark Schneider, along with shared Washington and WACO Superintendent Jeff Dicks, organized the collaboration, and Schneider is eager for his teachers and staff to hear what Berry has to tell them.

Schneider says, “We actually, this week, have emailed the teachers a link to videos by Buddy Berry, and also other information about the Eminence, Kentucky School District. So they will have had an opportunity before Friday to be exposed to his ideas. And then obviously on Friday, he’s giving two keynote sessions during the day. And so they’ll have another opportunity to listen to him in person.” In addition to the speeches, those in attendance will also participate in breakout sessions, which Schneider feels will be very beneficial. All classes at Mid-Prairie, Washington, and WACO schools have been canceled due to the learning day, which will run from 8 a.m. until around 4 p.m. Friday.
