An unidentified body was found in the Iowa River south of Hills Access. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday afternoon at 12:43 p.m. a call came in of a possible body floating in the river. Deputies responded to the scene with boats and confirmed the report. The body was recovered about 1:51 p.m. and is that of a woman. The Johnson County Medical Examiner’s office transported the body to the University of Iowa where an autopsy will be performed. The investigation is ongoing.
