Iowa Mennonite School senior athletic standout Drake Brezina signed his letter of intent Wednesday in the IMS media center.

Brezina will attend Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa to play football and baseball for the Red Raiders.

While at Iowa Mennonite, Brezina has been a four sport athlete, participating in football with Clear Creek Amana, basketball, track and baseball.

On the football field Brezina led CCA in rushing in 2015 with 1,010, earning all-district honors. In 2016, Brezina put up 284 yards and two touchdowns on the ground before suffering a season ending knee injury after two games.

On the basketball floor, Brezina was an honorable mention all-conference selection in 2016. He led IMS in rebounding with 104.

On the track Brezina qualified for state in the long jump in 2015 and in the 400m in 2016.

On the baseball diamond Brezina has twice been recognized as an All Southeast Iowa Superconference selection, following the 2015 and 2016 seasons. In 2015, Brezina hit .292. In 2016, he hit a team best .358 with 24 total hits and 19RBI, both team high totals. On the hill he finished 2016 with 2.63 ERA and 53 strike outs, both 10th best in the Superconference.

Brezina plans on returning from his injury to play baseball for IMS this summer.
