Another 20-point scoring night from Lone Tree’s Madison Forbes helped the Lady Lion basketball team (18-5) keep their season alive Tuesday night. As heard live on AM/FM KCII and KCIIRadio.com, the Lady Lions hosted the WACO Warriors (7-16) in the Class 1A Region 6 quarterfinals. Forbes scored a game-high 24 points to lead Lone Tree to a 55-25 victory.

Lone Tree held a 10-5 lead after the first quarter and went into halftime up 21-12. Forbes added 17 points in the third quarter, helping Lone Tree take a 40-16 lead into the fourth. It was the seventh game this year where she’s recorded more than 20 points. Liz Dodson added nine points for Lone Tree. The victory improves the Lady Lions’ record to 18-5 overall.

Kiana Miller led WACO with eight points while Kristen Conley added six in the setback. The loss ends the Warriors’ season at 7-16 overall. WACO loses Kasey Sutton and Halle Kissell to graduation.

Lone Tree advances to Friday’s regional semifinal versus the Easton Valley Tigers (14-7). The teams met in last year’s regional tournament with Easton Valley edging Lone Tree, 44-41.
