The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls basketball team travels to Williamsburg tonight to battle the Center Point-Urbana Stormin’ Pointers in the regional final round of the Class 3A tournament.

The Golden Hawks enter play tonight ranked No. 12 in the final poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. They are 17-6 on the season and finished in third place in the River Valley Conference with an overall record of 13-5. Mid-Prairie advanced through the regional semifinals by rolling through Central Lee on Wednesday 80-54 behind a career high 27 points from Addie Rath. On the season, Rath leads the Golden Hawks in scoring at 14 points per game, 10th best in the RVC. Rath also has the team lead with 103 assists on the year, a new single season school record, second most in the conference. Ireland Hostetler leads Mid-Prairie with 194 rebounds, fourth most in the conference. Her 79 blocked shots are a single season school record, most in the RVC and fourth most in the state.

Center Point-Urbana comes into tonight ranked No. 3 in the final poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. They are 20-3 on the season. They finished 12-2, second place in the WAMAC West. In their regional semifinal contest they topped South Tama 54-43. Allison Wooldridge led the way with 20 points. On the season, Wooldridge leads the team in all major categories. She is fifth in the conference and best on the squad with 13 points per game. She also leads the team, the conference, and is sixth in the state with 107 assists. She has pulled in 162 rebounds, best on the team and third in the conference.

These two teams met last year in the quarterfinal round of the state tournament with the Stormin’ Pointers edging the Golden Hawks with a second half comeback 48-43.
