The Iowa Mennonite boys basketball team travels to Mid-Prairie High School tonight to take on the Lisbon Lions in the Class 1A District nine championship game.

IMS comes into the contest with an overall record of 17-6. They were 10-5 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference North, good for third place. In the district semifinals IMS pounded Springville 62-41 behind Nick Yutzy’s 14 points. Cole Yoder and Cole Ours each had 12. On the season IMS is led by Yoder and Yutzy each at 10 points apiece. Yutzy is best on the team and fourth in the conference with 102 assists. Mitchell Schmeider has the team lead with 105 boards.

Lisbon comes into tonight with an overall record of 16-7. The Lions advanced through the district semifinals with a win Tuesday 61-57 at Lone Tree over the Lone Tree Lions. Lisbon was led by Bailey Arwine with 23 points. Blake Langhurst had 11. On the season, Arwine leads the Lions in all major categories. He  is best on the team and sixth in the Tri-Rivers West conference with 15 points per game. His 52 assists are best on the team and seventh in the conference. His 170 rebounds are best on the team and second in the league.

The winner of tonight’s contest advances to Saturday’s substate championship game against the winner of New London and Danville.
